About Us

Our mission is to develop a national network of gospel-centered sports chaplains who are focused on developing disciples through relational ministry.

The Sports Chaplains Network was initiated in December 2011 as one of the areas of ministry that makes up the Sports Outreach Group.

The Sports Chaplains Network is being developed to accomplish 5 key objectives:

1) To provide resources for Sports Chaplains around the world who are involved in ministry to sports teams.

2) To encourage relational ministry to the people involved in sports at the high school, collegiate, and professional level of sports.

3) To equip a new generation of Sports Chaplaincy ministry that is professional, gospel-centered, and effective.

4) To provide a place for connection and encouragement for Sports Chaplains of all organizations.

5) To communicate the stories of sports chaplaincy around the world.

What does it look like to be a SCN Chaplain?

SCN chaplains are committed to the daily ministry to people involved in sports and sports organizations. We believe in the teachings and truths of the Bible, and use relational evangelism as our means of engaging, encouraging, and discipling our teammates. SCN chaplains are not just men and women who pray for the team – but are leaders who are fully immersed into the individual lives. From the team owner, to head coach, to the star player or locker room janitor – SCN chaplains are there to serve the entire team.
